In Lesson One, we will examine the foundations of studying the Bible with confidence. This will include both a preliminary respect for the context of a passage and a warning against quoting it out of context because of the errors that occur.
In Lesson Two, we will learn how the context of the plain and normal meaning of a biblical passage is essential to an accurate understanding of Scripture. In this way, we will begin to understand how figures of speech and the context of the Bible as a whole will prevent us from erroneous interpretation.
In Lesson Three, we will examine the context of foundational truths such as “Law and Grace,” “Justification and Sanctification,” and “Israel and the Church.” Special attention will also be given to “The Two Phases of Christ’s Return.
In Lesson Four, we will examine four essentials for finding truth in context, learn the basics of inductive Bible study, and become familiar with six rules of interpreting prophecy.
In Lesson Five, we will examine the benefits and uses of various Bible study tools. In the “Bible Tools Exercises” section, we will practice using different Bible tools on specific Scriptures.
